Job Description

AspenCare Health Partners is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our remote team. This is a full-time, remote position based out of Dallas, Texas, and is open to candidates located anywhere in the United States. The Medical Biller will be responsible for the timely and accurate submission of medical claims, follow-up on unpaid accounts, and resolution of claim denials to ensure our clients receive maximum reimbursement. The ideal candidate is a proactive and organized professional with a solid understanding of the medical billing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claim Submission: Prepare and submit clean and accurate medical claims to various insurance payers, including commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid.
  • Accounts Receivable Follow-up: Monitor and pursue unpaid claims, ensuring timely follow-up with insurance companies to resolve outstanding balances and denials.
  • Denial Management: Research and resolve denied claims, including identifying root causes and submitting appeals or corrected claims as necessary.
  • Payment Posting: Accurately post payments and adjustments from insurance companies and patients to the correct accounts.
  • Patient Billing: Manage patient statements and answer patient inquiries regarding their bills and insurance coverage in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with the billing team, quality assurance specialists, and management to identify billing trends and improve overall efficiency.
  • Compliance: Adhere strictly to all HIPAA regulations and other federal, state, and payer-specific billing requirements.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a remote setting.
